Stand up and be counted in the 2020 Census

Brothers and sisters the 2020 US Census is going on right now and we must stand up and be counted.

Every 10 years the US Government conducts a count of how many people live in the US and where they live. Everyone gets counted: whether you are rich, poor, black, white, free, incarcerated, young, old, a citizen or immigrant (legal or not!). Everyone is entitled to get counted because this population breakdown determines how much money each community gets from the Feds.

You might be thinking, I ain’t got time for this shit, I’m trying to figure out how my rent is going to get paid with all this COVID 19 mess.

True! But here’s the facts: once this shit is over and the nut in the White House is sent back to wherever the fuck he came from, how we get to work, feed our children, pay for childcare, doctors bills, utilities, etc… that will continue!

Here’s why we should fill out the 2020 Census questionnaire:

  1. GET MORE MONEY FOR BLACK AND BROWN COMMUNITIES

Many in our community rely on social services and funding for things like free school lunches, healthcare for the in-firmed and elderly, daycare, as well as job training for brothers and sisters coming out of the prison system. The 2020 Census questionnaire apportions how much money the Federal Government gives our community for these necessities.

(And if you “straight” more power! but do it for your brothers and sisters who need allies in these challenging times…)

It only takes 10 minutes to fill out the questionnaire and you can even do it online (click here to get it done).

  1. CHIN CHECK THESE CHEATING ASS REPUBLICANS

Here’s the other thing filling out the Census will do: Chin check the lying, cheating GOP.

The four things Republicans want more than anything else right now is 1. Keep all the money in the hands of 1% (aka maintain white privilege); 2. Keep control of the Senate, 3. win Trump Another 4 Years in office, and 4: Continue to suppress the black and brown vote (this maintains white economic and racial privilege).

The main way they keep all the money in the hands of a few is through capitalism.

The main way they keep the political power (again to keep all the money) is through VOTER SUPPRESSION.

Being counted in the 2020 Census will make it hella hard for them to keep suppressing black and brown votes because the number of seats they will be allotted in Congress (a primary vehicle for their dirty power plays) WILL DECREASE to reflect the actual number of constituents they represent in their districts.

Times are difficult and it’s hard to pay attention to anything but the nut in the White House and COVID 19. But we also must keep our eyes on the ball for our future and the future of our children.

NO WAR WITH IRAN

In a desperate effort to cover his orange ass, Agent Orange has put the entire country in danger. Again. That’s right, the orange avenger had the second most powerful man in Iran assassinated. 

In the words of the late and great Marvin Gaye, what the fuck is going on?

In case you missed the cluster fuck of the last few weeks here is the break down:

+Qassem Soleimani, the head of Iran’s elite Quds military force and one of the most powerful figures in the Islamic Republic, was killed January 3rd in an airstrike in Baghdad. Thousands of people have mourned him in both Iraq and Iran.

+The US secretary of defense pushed back on reports that our military was planning to withdraw from Iraq in response to a resolution passed by the Iraqi Parliament.

+The non-binding resolution called on the government to expel some 5,000 U.S. troops from the country. President Trump said “we are not leaving unless they pay us back” for an air base in Iraq. 

+The Iranian government says it will no longer abide by key terms of the 2015 nuclear deal, lifting restrictions on centrifuges, uranium enrichment and more. President Trump pulled the U.S. out of the deal in 2018 for literally no reason other than to spite Obama.

+Mr. Trump says his administration “may discuss” releasing the intelligence that led to the strike on Soleimani. 

+Mr. Trump tweeted that the U.S. would target 52 Iranian sites (including cultural sites) if Iran retaliates for the strike. 

+The White House sent a formal notification to Congress about the airstrike as required by the War Powers Act.

+Lawmakers are divided over the strike, with Republicans applauding Mr. Trump’s action and Democrats warning about the possible repercussions. 

*And in “accidental trigger trauma” Iran mistakenly shot down a commercial airplane with 176 innocent passengers on board — unnecessary casualties as an indirect (or direct?) result of the assassination of Soleimani.

All we can do is hope that they can separate this idiot from the country and the people who were so unfortunate to get him as a president. I hope they can see we ain’t fuckin with this mutha fucka either!

We over here trying to get him out of office. We are fed up with his destructive wagging the dog tactics and distractions from his impeachment, and cruel separation of families at our boarders. 

We can only pray the treasonous Republican Party stop defending his dangerous behavior or democracy in the “free” world is about to take another serious hit.

Oscar winner Michael Moore’s new documentary Fahrenheit 11/9 is getting great reviews. It is a provocative and comedic look at the times in which we live. It will explore the two most important questions of the Trump Era: How the f**k did we get here, and how the f**k do we get out? It’s the film to see before it’s too late.

Moore predicted Trump would win the presidency back when people thought Hilary was a shoo-in. He always calls out the bullshit on ALL party lines, and gives practical advice on how to rise up and take down these dirty ass politicians.

Eddie Griffin took a knee at the NRG Arena in Houston, Texas on September 23, 2017 in solidarity with those who are fighting against police brutality towards African Americans, and for our right of freedom of speech and peaceful protest.

History is in the making Team Griffin. NFL, NBA and NBL players, coaches, and even a few owners, are following NFL free agent Colin Kaepernick’s lead by speaking out, taking a knee, locking arms, or not entering the field during the national anthem.

“I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color,” Kaepernick told NFL Media in an exclusive interview after the game.” To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder.”

Agent Orange in the White House has inflamed the masses this week by calling for the firing of professional athletes who who exercise their constitutional right to peaceful protest. Contrary to what Trump tweets, your First Amendment rights do not disappear the minute you punch the clock…

Resist those who seek to oppress you. Keep your intelligence about you, but use your voice to say NO to racism, NO to police brutality and NO to constitutional infringement.
