There is no surprise to hear that the Black Caucus plans to make major moves to impeach Trump. His comments and actions over Charlottesville were the last straw of no fucking straws anyway. I was infuriated to see him take to Twitter with no cultural sensitivity at all, defending landmarks that are a pure representation of slavery and oppression in this country. There is nothing patriotic about parading the dark past of your American people right in front of their faces so carelessly.
I’m confident it’s a wrap on Mr. Trump. The Black Caucus Chairman is discussing joining some of the Democratic efforts for impeachment as soon as Congress reconvenes in a couple weeks. He also no longer wants the leaders of HBC’s to meet with the White House. He does not believe such a president or his staff will have their best interest in mind, so he is breaking up that little photo op.
These will not be the first articles of impeachment to come against Trump. Democrat Brad Sherman of California is leading the way and has already filed for impeachment, (this was over the President’s firing of Comey), saying the President obstructed justice. Which he did. The Black Caucus plans to move on his pure unfitness and incompetence to serve. Congressman Steve Cohen of Tennessee says Trump has violated Emoluments Clause, which states a federal official cannot receive gifts or payments from a foreign government. He goes on to state that he not only violated the clause, but is incapable of and unwilling to protect Americans against foreign and domestic enemies like Neo-Nazis and the KKK. These are domestic terrorists Cohen states. And based on the oath he took for office, it is his duty to defend against such acts.
The US Constitution states that a president “shall be removed from office on impeachment for, and conviction of, treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors.” The particular acts this covers are up for debate, but what is not up for debate is the fact that Trump has committed all of the above (and probably more behind closed doors).
Impeachment starts in the House of Representatives and needs a majority vote. Then it must move to a trial by the Senate. In the Senate it needs two thirds of the vote to pass, and this milestone has never been reached in US history. I would not be surprised, and I would be elated for this to be the first time. I think we will witness history in this regard, because as everyone knows, this mutha fucka needs to go.
The road block here is that Republicans do control the House and the Senate; but if there has ever, ever ever ever, been a person you may want to break team with, THIS is the one. I give him 3 more months to completely burn every bridge on his political planet and leave us no choice but to impeach his incompetent, racist, immature ass.
Stay woke Team Griffin!
